Bad customer service is the worst. They don't have to give things away for free to please an unnecessarily upset customer. But when it's THEIR fault and you make a reasonable request, they should fulfill it! In fact, they should have come up with the solution you offered on their own- not tell you to go talk to a manager who has no time for you.
